Gwen Hanson grew up in upstate New York and earned her BA at Cornell University. She graduated from the University of South Florida College of Medicine in 1986, served in the US Air Force as a general medical officer, and completed her University of Florida family practice residency as chief resident in 1994. She was in private practice in Gainesville, Florida for eight years and moved to Bellevue with her husband and three daughters in 2002. Her hobbies include triathlons (Black Hills Olympic in 2009 is most recent), skiing, and playing the piano.
The design of Rockwood Family Medicine follows the lead of Gordon Moore, a solo physician who also works for the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. His practice model minimizes overhead expenses and takes advantage of the latest computer technology to decrease medical costs and provide more personalized healthcare. Like Gordon Moore and a growing number of family doctors nationwide, Gwen Hanson has elected to perform all the duties associated with her medical practice. To schedule an appointment, you can either call the office to speak to Dr. Hanson or leave her a voice message, or schedule on line anytime of day or night. She will be your point of contact for building your medical record, measuring your vital signs, administering all treatment and accepting payment. You will spend less time waiting and more time with your doctor.
